Announcing June Art Fair 2024

June Art Fair is pleased to announce the exhibitors participating in its 2024 edition. This year 12 galleries and 20 artists from 10 countries will present projects from 10–16 June at Riehenstrasse 90B, 4058 Basel, an iconic concrete bunker transformed into a gallery by Pritzker Prize winning architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron. ArtReview will be the official media partner for this year’s June Art Fair.

June is an art fair and exhibition platform that has taken place annually since 2019 when it was founded by galleries as an alternative, intergenerational fair-week experience and that welcomes connoisseurs and new audiences alike. Returning galleries include VI, VII (Oslo), Christian Andersen (Copenhagen), Hagiwara Projects (Tokyo), The Green Gallery (Milwaukee), Parisa Kind (Frankfurt), Misako & Rosen (Tokyo) and Jacky Strenz (Frankfurt). PROVENCE, an artist-led, trans-European publishing house and agency for contemporary art, returns with a painting-based installation that plunders the collective’s archive while offering a tongue-in-cheek perspective on participation in corporate structures.

New participants include Cento (Glasgow), Lagune Ouest (Copenhagen), Magician Space (Beijing), PALAS (Sydney) and Property Holdings Development Group (PHD Group), a Hong Kong based gallery with a focus on critical engagement, research and collaborative practice.

The first edition of June Art Fair took place during Basel Art Week in 2019 when it was founded by galleries as an independent alternative to existing fair models. Distinguished by a highly-selective, intergenerational group of participants presenting projects in a booth- free open format, June is modest in scale and conveniently located less than 200 meters from Messeplatz and Art Basel.

Gallery-led since its inception, June is currently organized by VI, VII (Oslo), Christian Andersen (Copenhagen), The Green Gallery (Milwaukee) and Misako & Rosen (Tokyo). Counting its 2021 digital online collaboration with Hauser & Wirth, 2024 marks the fifth physical edition, and sixth overall iteration of the fair.

Surrounded by the Landhof community garden, June’s location reflects the community-oriented nature of the fair, cementing it as a place of tranquility and respite during one of the busiest fair weeks of the year.
