Milwaukee, WI -- American Fantasy Classics presents an exhibition in conjunction with Bjorn Copeland. American Fantasy Classics is an ongoing collaborative project established and curated by Oliver Sweet, Alec Regan, Brittany Ellenz and Liza Pflughoft.

Bjorn Copeland (b. 1975) is an artist whose work experiments with visual, auditory, and physical mediums. Copeland is co-founder of the experimental rock and electronic music group Black Dice, which formed in 1997 while Copeland was a student at the Rhode Island School of Design. His visual work forcefully reconfigures pre-existing appropriated materials and handmade elements into new types of symmetries and meanings. Within these reconfigurations new meaning is explored by an act that is at once gestural and formulaic. Copeland received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and was a 2001 fellow at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He has had solo shows at Jack Hanley, China Art Objects and Daniel Reich Gallery. His work has been included in a traveling exhibition with stops at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami, and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. His work has also been shown at MoMA PS1 in New York, and he has performed with Black Dice at the Warhol Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Walker Center in Columbus.
